WB 3-8
SUMMAARYYY
This week was Spirit Week, which was honestly one of the most stressful weeks I've ever had so far in this month of February. So, I'm mainly going to talk about Spirit Week; not really about my classes. On Monday, it was Sports Day. Getting used to the process of Spirit Week was easy enough, and giving wristbands for Dress Out's was also super easy. It was also the first day of setting up and organizing the tables, which went pretty well considering the first day of Spirit Week. I'm also pretty sure Synchronized Swimming was also on Monday. It was fun seeing the teams compete. On Tuesday, it was Animal Print day. It was kind of hard finding an outfit related to the topic for the Dress Out, but I'm still happy to manage to find a type of animal print anyways. Anywho, the process was the same; set up tables, set up penny jars, and blahblahblah. Also, I noticed how barely anyone participated for Penny Wars for 8th grade, until it came until Wednesday. Also on Tuesday was Scavenger Hunt and the mini activities for ELA. My period worked for Scavenger Hunt, which made me realize some people in my team are genuinely so dumb. After hearing the news we needed one more item my team ALREADY HAD but just didn't show Mr. Ing, it pissed me off but I managed to let go of it. On Wednesday, Penny Wars was being taken more seriously and chainlink money were coming in. From left to right, jars were either filled with pennies or silver coins; sometimes even a dollar bill or a 5 dollar bill. Since I already worked Scavenger Hunt on Tuesday, I went to I104 to work and keep watch of the contestants for the Math mini activity. Some people were honestly annoying in I104, especially the 2 boys that kept laughing obnoxiously the entire time. On Thursday, Penny Wars got more crazy. For example, $100 was put into 8-1's jar and $300 was put into 8-2's jar. For the seventh grade jars, there were at least 30 one dollar bills in 7-1's jar but a lot of silver coins in 7-3's jar. I also worked for mini activities in I104, where this time, it was Social Studies. After reading the questions, it really made me criticize those who almost stayed the entire time of the mini activity.
HIIGHHLIGHHTTTS
🌟-seeing the teams fight over the amount they have in their own jar
it was honestly funny seeing other teams fight over whose going to lose or win penny wars, especially seeing other teams scream at eachother to not put bills or silver coins in their jar. although it was chaotic, it was fun and entertaining to watch. oh yea, it was also crazy seeing someone in 8-3 put $100 bills in 8-2's and 8-1's jar also ðŸ˜.
🌟-having fun during cheer-offs
despite not knowing the cheer and dance as much, i'm still glad i was able to have fun. i was also super relieved that i found a spot in the very back, knowing i would literally sell my entire team if i was at the very front. i was also super surprised how i didn't trip or fall down on the way to my position, considering the amount of space on the stage is limited and small.
LOOWWLIGHHTTSS
🌧️-someone absolutely SELLING 7-3 🫩
im not surprised how 7-3 didn't win cheer offs to be honest; especially how the signs were literally SO BAD at spelling. like..3-7 MAT is actually insane ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. it also pisses me off knowing that one person left one of the signs on PURPOSE just to dance. like the point of holding the signs is not wanting to dance...SO WHY DID YOU EVEN CHOOSE TO DANCE LAST MINUTE ðŸ˜ðŸ¤•. it pisses me off more hearing her excuse; "well, i didn't have enough time."...how do u not see that big sign with RED BOLD letters and the back also having a YELLOW BOLD background 🫩🫩.
🌧️-yearbook being hardly worked on due to spirit week in the way
as spirit week came in the way, i always did my hardest to work on the yearbook especially on my pages afterschool. i also just feel useless in a way now that yearbook is hardly being touched up or edited. so, stepping up my game and taking more things seriously, i spent countless hours working on my pages during yearbook; making sure their neat and also quality work.
LESSONN LEARRNEEDD
My main lessoned I learned for this week is to help others struggling. Sometimes, there are moments where I realize I can sometimes be selfish; so I always fix that to help others. This lesson also stood out to me overall this week. For example, helping others set up the tables, move the speakers, and give out wristbands for Dress Outs took a big role in helping us overall as a group.
